![]() When a text frame is placed behind another text or image frame on a higher layer, the text from your layer can be made to follow the shape of a text frame or graphical object on the higher layer. I'd be happy for someone to tell me otherwise though. In Scribus, the text wrap facility makes it possible to flow your text around an object that is located on a higher level. Or, at least, I've not yet found one myself. Sorry but I don't think there's a neat answer. (And a contour line on a straight line - or a straight bezier curve segment - is pretty useless.) This quotation block starts at the bottom of the. In this text I have a quotation block, with a different paragraph style (lower font size, indentation). It's difficult to explain but try drawing a curve and editing the contour line and seeing what happens when you try and flow text around it. 1 answer 41 views Keeping text vertical alignement between two columns I have a main text spread across two columns. You can flow text around images (or not try not having text flow around an image in a wordprocessor yet this may be a desired layout feature in DTP), superimpose images on text (or vice versa), and create color separations for printing. I don't think there's a way to "keep text behind a line" that is curved because Scribus always "closes" a contour line so the line would be joined at both ends making a shape instead of a line. This is an example where that precise control over size and spacing is absolutely necessary. The interior grey line is just to show the outline of the "inner" frame it doesn't need to be there.) It's not a particularly neat way of doing it but it works. ![]() If you need a background - colour, or whatever - for the text then duplicate the text frame, convert the duplicate to a polygon, then resize the original (or the duplicate). ![]() The easiest way to do what you want would be to make the object with the curved edge smaller. ![]() It does not affect the text within the same object. The contour line of an object is used to tell other objects with text how to flow the text around that object. ![]()
